What are bet modifiers?

Selecting an Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta or Super High 5 will display bet modifiers to the right of the Bet Type and Amount fields. These modifiers allow you to change your bets so that your selections can finish in various orders as described below.

BOX - Selected horses can finish in the required positions for the Bet Type in any order. For example:

• $1 exacta box 1,3 = $1 X 2 combinations = Total Cost of $2
• $1 exacta box 1,2,5,7 = $1 X 12 combinations = Total Cost of $12
• $1 trifecta box 1,2,3 = $.50 X 6 combinations= Total Cost of $3
• $1 trifecta box 1,2,3,4 = $1 X 24 combinations= Total Cost of $12

KEY - Select one horse in any position (your key horse). Select multiple horses for remaining positions. Key box then allows all combinations of your key horse finishing in any position with the other selected horses. For example: You choose the #1 as your key horse in first place with #2 and #3 in second and third. This means you’ll have six total combinations. With a $.50 base, this bet will cost $3.

FILL - Allows you to place your selection in all positions when you select your pick. For example: In a Trifecta, select "Fill" and then click on the 1st position of a Trifecta on the first horse. Your horse will automatically be selected in the 2^nd and 3^rd place positions. If you don’t want the horse in the win position, select the 2^nd position and the selection will be selected in the 2^nd and 3^rd positions.
