Yes, different rules can apply when making bets on races run in other countries.

England

  • If a race has over 24 horses, the pools for England and the United States will not be combined. If so, the payouts will be different.
  • No show betting is offered for races run in England. Place bets are paid out based on the number of runners at post time and if the race is a handicap (where horses may carry different weights).

      • 4 or less horses – Place not offered
      • 5-7 horses – Place pays for first and second
      • 8-24 horses – Place pays for first, second and third
    • Non-Handicap Races
